Fuel and Flow: My Favorite April Habits

April felt like a turning point in my wellness journey — not because I made huge, dramatic changes, but because I stayed consistent. And that’s a big deal.

Home-Cooked, Heart-Filling

This month, I really committed to preparing more meals at home—not just "quick and easy" meals but nourishing ones. Think colorful meals that are simple but satisfying! Since I’ve already mastered making better lunches, my goal now is to maintain that progress!

Recipes I Tried in April

  • Kale Chicken Soup

    • Simple recipe that was easy to make

  • Personal Pita Pizza (from Wondr)

    • I burned my pizzas, BUT my brother liked them!

  • Oatmeal with berries

    • Something different from usual parfaits!

  • Chicken with Beets & Brussels Sprouts

    • I wanted to try cooking beets, and I think I did okay!

  • Spinach Feta Cakes

    • This was actually my favorite!

Falling in Love with the megaformer

And then there’s Pilates.

I went from trying it out casually to genuinely looking forward to each session. The gentle burn, the focus on breath, the way my core feels engaged in ways I never noticed before — it’s been a game changer. Pilates has helped me reconnect with my body, especially on days I don’t feel like going all-out in a workout.

There’s something empowering about moving with intention and feeling stronger, more aligned, and a little more in tune after every session.

Small Steps, Big Impact

What I’ve learned this month is that “wins” don’t always look flashy. Sometimes, they’re simply about following through—cooking instead of ordering out, scheduling those fitness classes, and choosing habits that feel good, not just in the moment but for the long haul.

Here’s to more nourishing meals, mindful movement, and celebrating the small wins that add up to something big.
